The Queensland Government expects Southeast Queensland’s population to grow by 60% in the next 20 years. Logan City is one of the fastest growing districts in the region.
In late 2012, the Government’s Department of Housing and Public Works began a process to appoint a private organisation to manage tenancy services and develop, redevelop and renew the social housing portfolio of more than 4,500 dwellings in the Logan area. The private sector will take responsibility for the delivery of tenancy services, property management and portfolio development for the Logan estate. The project will see the largest transfer of government housing to the private sector in Australia.
In 2013, the Government appointed Advisian to help develop and deliver a self-sustaining project for the State under a modified outsourcing structure. We worked firstly on the bid evaluation committee for initial submissions. The Government then appointed us to advise on developing the commercial and financial approach; produce the necessary commercial principles and documentation; and manage aspects of the bidding process, including undertaking a significant skills transfer process.
