Francois is the manager of our ports and marine terminals practice for Sub-Saharan Africa. He has extensive international marine engineering experience gained on hydrocarbons, petrochemical, power plant and port development projects. He also has experience in coastal zone management, coastal monitoring, coastal processes numerical modeling (waves, hydrodynamics, sediment transport, pollutant dispersion, oil spill), metocean design conditions assessments, and waterfront and coastal structures design. Such structures include innovative coastal protection methods such as artificial reefs and geo-containers.

He has led marine engineering teams on numerous feasibility and design projects. He has worked on projects in South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique, Nigeria, Ghana, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq and Turkey.
Francois holds a Master’s degree in coastal engineering and has authored two book chapters and more than 30 papers published in technical conference proceedings. He was a guest editor of Shore and Beach special issue, Fall 2008.
